2008 släppte bandet ”The Sound Of Madness”. Många är vi som har längtat efter en ny skiva.
Shinedown samarbetar igen med producenten Rob Cavallo. Cavallo producerad senaste skivan och Brent Smith (sång) säger själv: ”He brings the absolute best out of us and our songs. To say we are emotionally charged to start recording the new album would be a huge understatement. Everyone hold on tight, this is going to be intense!” 
Mr.Cavallo har tidigare arbetat med Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, My Chemical Romance, Kid Rock, Meat Loaf och Paris Hilton (!) bland många fler!
